Watching next weekend for more winter weather potential

Sorry to have to already pivot to the next winter storm but models are already hinting at something for next weekend. As I mentioned in a previous post, the pattern is going to be favorable for winter storm systems through early February. This next potential system would be different from the one we just dealt with, in that it will be coming up the coast from Georgia rather than moving west-to-east across the midwest then Tennessee. This type of track lessens the likelihood of mixed precipitation types, we’d be on the colder side of the storm, and likely stay all snow. The uncertainty here is, how far offshore does the low pressure system track? If it’s too far east or south, we’d see only light snow or possibly none at all. And that question won’t be answered until Wednesday at the earliest. The key point right now is to be prepared for possibly more winter weather next weekend. In the meantime, stay warm!
