Toasty temps take a hiatus (mostly); frost risk north and west next week

The overall pattern settling in to the Mid-Atlantic region will bring generally cool and dry weather our way (with some warmer days here and there) through the rest of the month. Our next front arrives Saturday with the potential for some severe storms in the late afternoon/evening, and gusty south winds ahead of it. Behind the front, lows will dip into the 40s north of I-64 and west of 95, with some upper 30s possible in far northwest VA and western Maryland next week, so folks with summer vegetable gardens will want to keep an eye on the temperature and be ready to possibly cover or bring in tender plants. For reference, the average last frost date for central Virginia is between April 15th and 30th.
