Strong storms and torrential rain possible again this afternoon

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8pm for the Richmond area, south to Emporia, east to Virginia Beach and west to Buckingham County and South Boston/Danville. Additionally a flash flood watch is in effect for much of this same area. A broad area of showers and storms is moving slowly east from South Boston to Culpepper, and these storms could produce torrential rain in a short period of time, along with frequent lightning and wind gusts to 60 mph.
