"Second summer" displaces "false fall" starting Sunday

Cooler and drier air associated with winds out of the north and northeast associated with Idalia will give way to summer temperatures again, but thankfully just for 4 to 5 days. Temperatures will return to the mid 90s from Sunday through Thursday under mostly sunny skies (with rain chances near zero), before our next cold front arrives and knocks back our temperatures into the low 80s for next weekend into the third week of September.

All is quiet in the tropics for now, a few remnants of various tropical storms far out in the Atlantic but moving away from land.
