Modest snow this weekend for Richmond
Quick update on this weekend’s potential winter weather. So far it’s looking this one is going to bring the highest snow totals to far southeastern Virginia….Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Wakefield, perhaps Williamsburg, on the order of 6-10” with much less totals further west and northwest, right now looking like 4-5” for Richmond, 1-3” just north and northwest of the city, and hardly anything at all towards Fredericksburg and Charlottesville. Of course, we still have Friday and Saturday to go, but we’ll have the benefit of the short range models at that point, and those models did very well with this past winter storm. The frigid overnight temperatures won’t be leaving in any hurry, they’ll stick around through Sunday before starting to ease up. Timing would be Saturday night into Sunday afternoon/evening.
