Minor snow for northern Virginia and Maryland Friday night

A few models are showing that a weak, fast moving system pressing southeast out of the Ohio Valley late Friday night could bring some snow showers to northern Virginia (Fredericksburg to D.C., including the Shenandoah Valley north of Harrisonburg), ending early Saturday morning before 6 a.m. Temperatures will be only marginally supportive, so I only anticipate maybe 1 to 3 inches for those areas, and just a dusting for areas further south like Ashland and Short Pump. Temperatures will be too warm in Richmond and Chesterfield, so just a little rain there.

Chilly mornings but warm afternoons will continue through Friday, then the weekend through Monday is looking a bit closer to normal for this time of year under partly to mostly sunny skies.
