Freezing cold lingers this week; next winter weather potential Saturday

After one more round of snow later today (Monday early evening) this system will scoot on out of here, leaving very cold temperatures in its wake for the rest of the week. Highs will barely get above freezing tomorrow, and not at all until Saturday. Overnight lows could approach single digits even around the outskirts of Richmond.

By mid week I’ll be looking at next weekend…the pattern remains favorable for winter storm systems over the eastern U.S. and some models are already showing another possibility Saturday for accumulating snow and sleet/freezing rain. I’ll have a better idea about that on Wednesday.
