Drier pattern settling in; temperatures hold at normal levels

Pretty quiet weather pattern shaping up for the next 1-2 weeks for most of the Mid-Atlantic. High pressure will largely keep us free of widespread showers and storms. Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 80s and low 90s, though spiking a bit at 96 on Monday. Looking further ahead to the rest of the month and early September, the long-range climate model is suggesting we’ll see cooler than usual temperatures across the northeast and into the Mid-Atlantic for the last week of August and into early September.

In the tropics, quiet for now but there are two clusters of storms in the far eastern Atlantic that could develop into tropical waves in the next week.
