Clouds, rain, and cooler temperatures coming late week

We’ll have to get through another stretch of mostly dry weather and hot temperatures in the mid 90s, but relief is on the way. An area of low pressure will move our way out of the Carolinas and bring clouds and widespread showers with it for Friday, lingering Saturday across coastal and eastern Virginia. It will also cap our temperatures in the low to mid 80s both Friday and Saturday. Early rain total forecasts through Sunday morning call for an inch to an inch and a half in the Richmond area, higher amounts east and lesser amounts west.
